zhengjiang’s membrane industrial association inauguration meeting and first member congress was held in hangzhou on may 16, 2014. zhou long, deputy director of zhejiang’s civil affairs department’s social organization administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. nearly 100 representatives from membrane, environmental protection and water treatment companies in zhejiang were present. the meeting was hosted by wang shougen, deputy director of the hangzhou water treatment technology research and development center.
membrane technology is a new technology with one of the most promising development prospects in the 21st century. membrane water treatment technology has become a major approach in resolving water shortage and quality. membrane technology started early in zhejiang province and has enjoyed fast development. zhejiang’s membrane unit capability and products have reached an advanced level worldwide and have helped promote the development of china’s membrane industry.
the hangzhou water center joined hands with zhejiang university, bluestar (hangzhou) membrane industry co, hangzhou tianjian fluid control equipment co, and zhejiang dongyang environmental engineering co in establishing the membrane association to integrate industrial resources and better boost local membrane development. as the first membrane association at the provincial level, it aims to boost innovation to power development; set up a membrane exchange and promotion platform to boost industrial development; build an expert database to share resources; and offer services to member companies and the whole industrial chain. the establishment of the association will play an important role in promoting booming and sustainable membrane development in zhejiang.
the meeting participants passed the zhejiang membrane industry association charter and the zhejiang membership payment standards and methods. they selected the standing council, president, vice-president and secretary-general for the first session. a total of 39 people were voted in the council, and zheng genjiang, director of the hangzhou water center, was elected chairman of the council.
at the meeting, representatives actively made speeches on stage. they introduced advanced technology or products, and discussed the latest cutting-edge development. most of the entrepreneurs believed that the establishment of the association provides an indispensable cooperation and exchange platform for membrane company development and will boost resources sharing.
