the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission of the state council recently issued a document on the commendation of “outstanding volunteers of central enterprises”. among those commended was yang yong, deputy director of the supervision and auditing department of bluestar dongda, who had previously reaped the honors of “model worker of central enterprises” and “model party member of central enterprises”.
yang yong has been donating blood over the past 16 years, making a total contribution of 66,800ml, which is equivalent to the total blood volume of 15 adults. in particular, he started donating platelets in november 2014, saving numerous lives. as deputy head of the blood donation volunteer team in zibo, shandong province, he managed the team in a reasonable manner and led the 458 members to promote blood donation on a scientific basis. with more and more people joining the team of blood donators, zibo has become a city that has plenty of blood supply. in may 2013, general manager ren jianxin called on everyone of the group to follow the example of yang yong and carry out more activities for public interests. volunteer services then became a fashion in all the enterprises of the group.
bluestar dongda has established its own volunteer team. led by yang yong, members have been active in various public-interest activities, establishing bluestar dongda as a model for fulfilling corporate social responsibilities.
