toll is the largest logistics and transportation service provider in australia, and one of the leading logistics service providers in the asia-pacific region. its business covers road, railway, air, and sea transportation, as well as warehousing and delivery services. its operation network covers over 40 countries including china. the qenos-toll agreement lasts six years and values aud300 million. as qenos ceo jonathan clancy said, the agreement carries on the sound cooperation between the two parties and will help qenos upgrade its logistics service capacity and lower the costs.
based on the agreement signed with santos and origin energy, qenos will receive aud5 million worth of natural gas from the two companies over the next five years, which it will use to produce polyethylene. present at the signing ceremony were anthony roberts, minister for resources and energy of new south wales; james baulderstone, vp eastern australia of santos; and paul zealand, ceo upstream of origin energy. according to jonathan, cooperation with the two energy giants gets qenos ready for stable and high output as well as a higher market share in 2015. meanwhile, by using local energy and chemical resources in australia, qenos will offer considerable job opportunities for local residents.
in addition, qenos also signed a supplementary agreement with apa for existing natural gas pipelines. the 1, 200km pipeline sends natural gas from moomba in south australia to the qenos plant in botany.
