the seventh aquatech china has recently been held at the expo convention and exhibition complex, shanghai. toray bluestar membrane technology (beijing) co., ltd. presented its new product at the event and was met with wide acclamation.
in the first half of this year, bluestar launched ultra-low-pressure, highly durable reverse osmosis (ro) torayfil membrane in china. it performs under a pressure as low as 1.0mpa and saves about 30% of energy. meanwhile, with special process and structure, the product’s water permeability was improved by 1.5 times. in addition, the membrane removes 99.7% of ions and allows for a higher water output under an extremely low pressure, making it obviously superior to similar products. like previous torayfil products, it also boasts high chemical durability and maintains stable high performance for a long time even if it is frequently cleaned under harsh conditions. it is expected to play a major role in future municipal works.
toray launched a series of torayfil products over the past several years, specifically, the brackish water products in 2010, anti-pollution products in 2011, and ultra-low-pressure products at the end of 2012. torayfil membranes for seawater desalination can be expected by the end of 2014.
