shenyang chemical was entrusted by the city to hold two vocational skills competitions this year, thanks to its previous success holding a chemical testing skill and three chemical general control competitions. hosting the two competitions at the same time posed a challenge, so the company immediately set up an ad hoc team for the two events. its labor union gathered workers from shenyang chemical, shenyang paraffin and shenyang jinbi to formulate plans and encourage all operators and test workers to participate. soon, 551 workers across the city signed up for the competitions, including 319 employees from shenyang chemical.
the venue of the chemical testing skill competition was shenyang chemical, which held training for contestants since june. the company also put up a mock-competition for test workers to break them in and find problems in the competition’s work procedure, laying a solid foundation for the success of the two events. as the most automated company in shenyang chemical, shenyang paraffin had 155 workers in the competition. it compiled test questions from previous years for its contestants and properly arranged its work schedule to ensure enough time for preparations. at the moment, many employees from the two companies rank among the top in test results.
shenyang chemical has always given top priority to building its team of workers at the front line by improving their knowledge and professional skills. every year, the company and its subsidiaries will hold regular skill trainings and competitions to encourage front-line workers to improve their professionalism.
the competitions have not only enriched worker knowledge, but have also created opportunities for promotion. as of this year, a total of 1,811 employees from shenyang chemical have taken part in the two competitions. thirteen have been promoted to senior technicians, 59 to technicians and 155 to senior workers.
