the 25th bluestar international summer camp successfully concluded on august 9. a total of 950 campers from 11 countries worldwide spent 20 happy days together. ren jianxin, general manager of chemchina; lu xiaobao, general manager of bluestar; zhang lijun, deputy general manager; and gao jianjun, party secretary of bluestar, were present at the closing ceremony.
the ceremony was filled with sincerity and friendship and featured dancing, singing, opera, martial arts and musical performances. many shows integrating chinese and western elements impressed the audiences very much. the fox, a collective dance performance, kicked off the night with a bang, and chinese and foreign campers in red costumes performed yangko, a traditional dance in northeast china. the dance little apple was another highlight, with nine foreigners dressed in ancient chinese costumes dancing to the sprightly rhythm, a perfect combination of ancient and modern elements. the play bluestar summer camp-happy memories showcased daily camp life, with foreign campers trying hard to recite chinese poems. although their chinese seemed a little stiff, their efforts touched the audience. campers from gansu's gulang county delivered a self-choreographed dance called big schoolbag. their dynamic performance brought the house down.
in addition, the martial arts show; street and party dances; and trilingual songs featuring chinese, french and english all reflected important lessons during the summer camp, impressing teachers and parents present.
all performances were built on exchanges at the 20-day summer camp, which built a platform for children to interact with each other in their own language and customs and jointly interpret the essence of the “we are family” culture.
ren jianxin was deeply moved by the children’s innocence. in his speech, he thanked teachers for their hard work and congratulated children on what they have learned from the 20-day experience. ren asked everyone to work harder and contribute to future social development. lu xiaobao recapped the development of the summer camp and hoped that the summer camp can better carry bluestar's culture in the future.
the ceremony concluded with the camp's theme song grow under the blue sky. campers exchanged contact information and are looking forward to future reunions.
