bluestar's hangzhou water treatment technology center has engaged in liquid membrane and water treatment technology research and development, engineering design, product manufacturing and system integration. its projects have helped save 1 billion tons of water over the years.
the water center has provided dozens of seawater desalination devices for zhejiang, hebei, shandong, taiwan, macao, southeast asia and the middle east. it enjoys more than 60 percent of market share among all built devices. these desalination projects not only ease municipal water supply pressure in some of the coastal areas, but ensure domestic water for local residents. in addition, they have solved water shortage problems for some relocated industrial companies, while preventing water-guzzling companies from over-utilizing fresh water resources.
over the years, these seawater desalination projects have saved approximately 850 million tons of fresh water resources. recently, the hangzhou water center won a 150,000-ton-per-day desalination project for a steel plant in the middle east thanks to its advanced design idea, excellent project management team and rich experience in seawater desalination. the new project will help china's large-scale seawater desalination equipment reach the international market and contribute to water conservation worldwide.
in addition, the water center's membrane method technology made outstanding contributions to wastewater utilization. the center is the first in china to realize electroplating, papermaking, printing and dyeing wastewater recycling, pvc centrifugation mother liquor recycling, and zero or micro emissions. the center has saved 150 million tons of water over the years.
