a long march-3c rocket lifted off from the xichang satellite launch center at 21:51 on march 30, 2015 has sent the first satellite of china’s next-generation beidou navigation satellite system into orbit. the successful launch marked the beginning of turning beidou navigation satellite system’s current regional service into global coverage. it is worth mentioning that a “space shuttle bus” was installed on the carrier rocket, which can transport one or more spacecrafts into different orbits directly. this is the first time china has used such technology in launching spacecraft into medium to high orbit.
