on november 7, european commission president jose manuel barroso met with 12 representatives of the world’s top multinational enterprises at a follow-up meeting of the eu annual meeting in brussels. oliver stone, director of bluestar, expressed his view on how to raise market competitiveness, company operations and innovation in europe. he stressed that cultural differences are very important to multinational companies.
he introduced the bluestar summer camp to the meeting participants. he discussed how bluestar arranged for children of employees from 20 different countries to enjoy a 20-day summer camp every year. the company used summer camp to promote cultural integration and show its employees that they should embrace, rather than fear, the opportunities brought by globalization. europe should also encourage technicians, interns and employees to travel around europe in addition to professional managers.
