to achieve resource sharing and common development, lanzhou fiber signed a strategic cooperation agreement with sunwell (jiangsu) carbon fiber composite co., ltd. (hereafter called “sunwell”) on the manufacturing of carbon fiber and its composite materials, in hopes of building a long-term, comprehensive partnership in the wind power, automotive and other fields according to the principle of equality, mutual assistance, and complementary advantages. attending the signing ceremony were chairman cai zhaoyang and general manager hong jinxu of sunwell, as well as party secretary and general manager zhou baoqing and deputy general manager wang fei of lanzhou fiber.
gm zhou baoqing briefed over the company’s production and operation. according to mr. zhou, lanzhou fiber is a large domestic producer of more than 50k large-tow carbon fiber, with an annual output of 10,000 tons of polymerization fluid, 4,000 tons of precursor, and 2,000 tons of carbon fiber. in the future it will aim to produce 50,000 tons of precursor and 25,000 tons of carbon fiber as the target of the phase-ii project to dedicate itself to alleviating the current domestic dependence on imported large-tow carbon fiber. the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement will play an important role in bolstering the future development of lanzhou fiber. it is believed that, through the joint efforts, both sides can realize complementary advantages and mutual benefits.
cai zhaoyang and his delegation visited lanzhou fiber’s polymerization-spinning-carbonization production line. during the discussion, he introduced the development of sunwell’s carbon fiber, and looked forward to the prospect of carbon fiber applications in the wind-power field. according to mr. cai, with the rapid development of the domestic carbon fiber industry in recent years, sunwell has made significant progress in its composite materials industry chain and complete sets of equipment manufacturing. among them, the industrial carbon fiber market has broad prospects, covering not only the market demand but also the future improvement. in the manufacturing of large wind turbine blades, strength and stiffness should be taken into account, with the weight minimized. as such, it is the best choice that new carbon fiber composite materials and new process methods are applied in manufacturing wind turbine blades. with a turnover of more than 1.8 billion yuan, sunwell has accumulated rich experiences, garnering insight into the domestic wind power and automotive markets. it is hoped that the two sides can give full play to their respective technical and industrial advantages, and conduct more cooperation and communication, so as to lay a more solid foundation for the wide application of carbon-fiber composite materials in downstream fields.
