at the 2015 china international petroleum & petrochemical technology and equipment exhibition (cippe) staged in shanghai days ago, bluestar valve, under bluestar beijing chemical machinery, presented the 28-inch top-entry ball valve for ultra low temperature application it designed and manufactured independently, the first of its kind developed by a chinese company. the product made a sensation and immediately attracted the attention from inside and outside the industry at the cippe, asia’s biggest petroleum exhibition participated by 520 exhibitors and over 30,000 visitors.
the product is not only impressive in size but also praiseworthy in its performance, precision finishing and creative design. it’s mainly used in the lng (liquefied natural gas) industry and capable of working with good sealing performance at the temperature as low as -196℃. the body and the cover of the valve are both made of austenitic stainless steel with integral casting. because of the special structure inside the valve, there are stringent requirements about the processing techniques and only with extreme precision can the valve remain sealed under extreme conditions. so it’s really difficult to choose and develop the design software, select, try and produce of product materials, and monitor the product quality and production process. bluestar valve managed to overcome all these challenges by developing proprietary technology and by drawing from the mature experience and practices of its technicians.
the success of the product marks that china’s processing level has been elevated to a new high. the ball valve adopts the top entry design, making it the first of its kind to be able to be removed on the pipeline in the country. in this way, it’s really convenient to repair the valve on the pipeline, saving time and cost and greatly improving the utilization efficiency of the pipeline.
