qenos altona played host to its third annual customer safety health & environment seminar on 23 october 2018.
the customer focussed seminar was attended by employees from some of qenos’s largest customers including blowflex mouldings, micropellets, orora, visy and zezt.
the seminar aims to increase collaboration with qenos customers whilst demonstrating its value as a local australian manufacturer.
it also presented a fantastic opportunity for anthony de fanti, fixed equipment engineer to present a number of qenos extruder focussed manual handling improvement examples in particular the "disco purge" concept which drew plenty of attention from customers.
external guest speakers andrew currie, ceo, price plastics and ray mccann, managing director of long term qenos contractor john beever, also shared their vast and varied experiences in relation to sh&e.
feedback has been very positive with many of those in attendance intending to return to their work sites to implement some of the new insights of the day. many said the seminar provided a great environment to share ideas about safety and would support and attend any future seminars.
special thanks to rob berton qenos sh&e manager and jonathan mah qenos process contact engineer who hosted a tour of olefins facilities for the group which helped to raise awareness around the complexities of polyethylene manufacture.
